I've learned early in this flesh
That the only thing certain in this life is death
See I've been dying since my first breath
But living since we first met
Spent years running through life's races with loose laces
Only to learn that life is nothing more than a trip
So let's face it
We've tried and tested several bases
But for what we are trying to build
Anything less than ancient is a basic foundation
There was a time I wanted to be a star
But now I'd rather birth constellations
Why bother with anything less than forever
Tell me
What can be better than seeing the I's in the eyes of our children
Knowing the rivers of our bloodline continue beyond time
I'm writing this scribe on the walls as my elders did
I once lived in fear of dying nameless
So I strived to leave my mark on this land
But now
Now the shell of a man is gone from earth
My work will continue to birth
I will live in these words of mine
I will live forever
